You can use the questions below to determine which Talon type you actually have...as long as it's not modified.
1. Does it have sharkfin inlays (left picture)? Yes: Continue with question 2. No: Continue with question 3.
2. Does it have a reverse (i.e. slanting up, as in the left picture) headstock? Yes: It is a Talon V. No: It is a Talon IV.
3. Does it have an SSH (single coil in neck and middle, humbucker at bridge, as in the left picture) pickup configuration? Yes: It is a Talon. No: Continue with question 4.
4. Does it have 24 frets (i.e. you will have two sets of double dot markers, one at the highest fret, as in the picture)? Yes: It is a Talon II. No: Continue with question 5.
5. Does it have a tremolo system with the words "Floyd Rose Pro" on it? Yes: Continue with question 6. No: It is a Talon I.
6. Does it have a reverse (i.e. slanting up, as in the left picture) headstock? Yes: It is a Talon IIIR. No: It is a Talon III.
If your Talon is modified, things become a little harder. Modifications usually involve pickups and controls. If your neck and tremolo are still stock...
1. Does the tremolo have the fine tuners sticking out at the back (like the picture on the left)? Yes: Continue with question 2. No: Continue with question 3.
2. Does it have 24 frets (i.e. you will have two sets of double dot markers, one at the highest fret, as in the picture)? Yes: It is a Talon II. No: It is a Talon I.
3. Does it have a tremolo system with the words "Floyd Rose II" on it? Yes: It is a Talon. No: Continue with question 4.
