The RR9 has an alder body, maple neck, rosewood fretboard with dot inlays, a single Heartfield active humbucker and 22 frets. The difference with the RR8 is that is has a Fender American standard tremolo and a longer scale: It has a 25.5" (648 mm) scale length and a 12" (305 mm) neck radius.
It used to sell for $769.99.
Heartfield colour codes available for this guitar: Frost Red (577), Brite White (581), Yellow Sparkle (593) and Blue Sparkle (594).
First documented month of manufacture: March 1989 (serial number C89078, see below). Last documented month of manufacture: July 1991 (serial number G10076, see below). The guitar appeared in Fender Frontline first in spring 1990 (there are no earlier issues) and last in autumn 1993. This appears to make it (and the RR8) the Heartfield guitar longest in production.

| Serial #: I89027 | ||
| Remarks: Yellow Sparkle finish. Do note that the guitar in the first picture on the right is its brother, the very RR9 listed below. Despite their undoubted similar production date they have different branding (this one is Heartfield, the other is Fender). These two instruments have been reunited 17 years after the production. | ||
